A total of 200 public hospitals in the State now have National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification, with three more hospitals securing the quality certification, a statement issued by the Health department here said.
The public hospitals in the State secured national-level quality standards with high scores, following a quality improvement initiative driven by the State.
The three new hospitals to secure NQAS certification are Chinnakanal family health centre in Idukki, Vengappally FHC, and Muthanga popular health centre in Wayanad .
At present, five district hospitals, four taluk hospitals, 11 community health centres, 41 urban primary health centres, 135 FHCs and four popular health centres have come into the NQAS fold in the State.
NQAS certification has a validity of three years, after which, the hospitals will have to undergo the inspection again to retain the certification.
