The Congress party in-charge for Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency Velchala Rajender Rao on Monday alleged that Karimnagar Mayor Y. Sunil Rao changed loyalty from the “corruption-ridden” BRS to the BJP in the presence of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay with “political opportunism.”

In a statement issued here on Monday, Mr Rajender Rao lashed out at the BRS and the BJP accusing the local leaders of both the parties of acting hand-in-glove with narrow political machinations. “The war of words between Mr. Sunil Rao and the followers of Karimnagar MLA G. Kamlakar of the BRS laid bare the politics of lies and misrule in the Karimnagar civic body during the previous BRS dispensation,” Mr. Rao charged.

He flayed Mr. Sanjay over his reported adverse remarks on Indiramma Houses, the flagship housing scheme of the Congress government in Telangana. Any adverse comments against former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her family members will not be tolerated, he said.
