Calling Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing Samvidhan Bachao rallies a war between the believers of “Gandhi and Godse”, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the AICC leader embodies Mahatma Gandhi’s values, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi represents Nathuram Godse’s ideology.

Speaking at the “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan” rally organised by the Indian National Congress in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, Mr. Reddy described Rahul Gandhi as a fighter taking up cudgels against a government “trying to destroy the Indian Constitution”.

“We all need to strengthen Rahul Gandhi’s hands as this is more of a war to save India from the believers of Godse ideology,” he said. He alleged that since Mr. Modi came to power, there have been relentless efforts to alter the Constitution, likening him to Mohammad Ghazni, who plundered India before British rule.

sMr. Reddy stated that while Mahatma Gandhi freed India from British rule, Rahul Gandhi is now leading a similar fight against the BJP, which he referred to as the “British Janata Party”. He emphasised that the only way to protect the Constitution is to bring the Congress party to power at the Centre under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.

Earlier, addressing reporters, he accused the BJP government of insulting B.R. Ambedkar and attempting to undermine his ideology of reservations. He claimed similar efforts were made during the parliamentary elections, but the public thwarted their ambitions, limiting them to 240 Lok Sabha seats instead of their goal of 400 seats.

The meeting was held in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh — Ambedkar’s birthplace — to “expose” the BJP’s alleged attempts to dilute the Indian Constitution.
