The Tamil Nadu branch of the Indian Association of Occupational Health (IAOH) is holding the 75th national conference on occupational health, OCCUCON 2025, from Wednesday till February 1 in the city. Each year, IAOH hosts the national conference, highlighting workplace initiatives, best practices, and research from a diverse group of professionals, including doctors, safety experts, and HR representatives.
The 76-year-old IAOH, has about 3,000 members with branches across the country. IAOH is affiliated with the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH). The country will host the ICOH 2027 congress in Mumbai for the first time elevating its significance on the global stage.
OCCUCON theme is “Occupational Health and Wellbeing: A Key to Organisational Sustainability.” Apart from workshops, academic sessions, and discussions on the latest trends in workplace health, over 90 scientific papers and posters will be presented.
“The Tamil Nadu branch has conducted Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes in Madurai, attracting occupational health physicians from across southern Tamil Nadul. Our branch plans to organise similar initiatives in other districts,” said Sudha S. Ramachandran, conference director and S. Sarangadharan conference secretary.
