‘1930 Walkathon’ was held on Wednesday to create awareness for staying protected from growing cyber threats. The event, organised by Cyber Crime Wing of Tamil Nadu, attracted around 5,000 enthusiastic participants from schools, colleges, local residents, NCC, NSS and others.
This event was aimed to educate the public on cybercrimes, and the importance of reaching out Cyber Crime Helpline number 1930 on time without any delay. The walkathon was flagged off by Dheeraj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Prohibition and Excise. The gathering was welcomed by Sandeep Mittal, Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime Wing and was addressed by Shankar Jiwal, Director General of Police/ and Head of Police Force.
This event marked many initiatives and one among the initiatives is Expansion of the 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline — an initiative that aims to empower individuals to report cybercrimes, receive timely assistance, and protect themselves from harm.
