Anantha Horticulture Enclave will be held on Wednesday, February 5, in Anantapur to provide farmers, marketers and government departments a platform to chalk out means to increase horticulture crop productivity in the district.
Collector Vinod Kumar V. said the district has achieved the distinction of being the ‘Fruit Capital’ of Andhra Pradesh. Its favourable soil and climatic conditions make it conducive to horticulture crops. In coordination with the district administration, the agriculture and horticulture departments are conducting the conclave, which will discuss the latest techniques in horticulture. Six Memoranda of Understanding regarding pre-harvesting training and other aspects will also be signed.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, district in-charge Minister T.G. Bharat and Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu, apart from representatives of various companies and farmers, will attend the conclave.
The Collector also visited the MYR Convention Hall on Bellary Road and reviewed the arrangements for the conclave. He instructed the officials to make proper food arrangements for the dignitaries and farmers attending the conclave.
