An attempted ATM theft near the Irrikur bus stand in the early hours of Tuesday was foiled as the police arrived at the scene on time, forcing the suspect to flee.
The alleged incident occurred around 12.45 a.m. when a man, his face covered with a towel, attempted to break open the Canara Bank ATM after covering the CCTV camera with a leaf. However, an alarm was triggered as he tampered with the security system, alerting the police.
The Irrikur police have intensified search for the suspect.
