The Centre has selected Hyderabad for establishment of a world-class Energy Transition Hub – Centre of Excellence on Energy Transition (CoEET) – by The Energy Research Institute (TERI) in association with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) with necessary financial support. An MoU was signed between TERI and BEE here last week in the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar, Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka and others. The proposed CoEET is expected to work on energy efficiency and low-carbon technologies in industry, MSMEs and transport sectors. The initiative spearheaded by BEE was aiming at combating climate change while enhancing energy efficiency to support economic growth and human well-being, according to Media Advisor (South) of BEE A. Chandrasekhara Reddy.
As a premier knowledge hub, the CoEET would play a key role in driving the country’s clean energy transition and advancing its ambitious Net Zero emissions target by 2070 by bringing together industry leaders, academia and the civil society, he stated in a press release issued here on Monday.
