Karnataka: BJP and JD(S) leaders hail Union Budget

Hailing the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday, BJP leaders in Karnataka said the Budget was visionary and development-oriented.

In a post on X, former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister and said the “visionary Budget marked another milestone in the journey towards a developed India.” According to him, the Budget for 2025-26 will be instrumental in achieving the tangible goal of empowering farmers, middle class, and small and medium enterprises in particular.

“The Budget ensures robust, inclusive growth through progressive roadmap, export-oriented, investment-friendly and reform-oriented measures, and transformative policies. It is an industry-friendly Budget with high priority on job creation,” Mr. Yediyurappa said.

BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai termed the Budget growth oriented, stating that there was a fine balance between economic and social infrastructure. “It is an inclusive Budget, which includes farmers, youths, women and SC/ST. It is a boon to the middle class. It will boost the savings and investments of the middle class by nil taxes on income up to ₹12 lakh,” he said.

Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy said this Budget prioritises farmers and simplifies the lives of the middle class. “This is a Budget to empower farmers, strengthen the rural economy, and equip Indian agriculture for future challenges. It is a reflection of the Prime Minister’s vision and farmer-centric approach. It strongly emphasises organic farming, sustainability, and reducing input costs to benefit farmers,” he said.

The PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana is a revolutionary initiative for Indian agriculture sector. This will enable provision of world-class infrastructure for domestic agriculture, an excellent system for storage of agricultural products, promotion of exports, more income for farmers and strength for rural India,” he said.
