The Srisailam temple management has focussed on maintaining queue lines during the 11-day Maha Sivaratri Brahmotsavams which attract huge number of devotees to the hill shrine.
Temple executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao, who has been conducting a series of review meetings on the arrangements to be made, asked the officials to complete all the arrangements well ahead of the commencement of Brahmotsavams on February. The temple management is anticipating that the rush of devotees will start before the Brahmotsavams as thousands of devotees from Karnataka and Maharashtra would come trekking to the hill in advance.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao asked the officials to maintain the queue lines properly and take the cooperation of Police Department to manage them and avoid any untoward incident. He wanted the queue lines to be erected properly and emergency exits installed to shift devotees, if necessary, from the lines.
The meeting also decided to make proper arrangements for the devotees coming on foot at Nagaluti, Bheemunkolanu, Kailasa Dwaram, Sakshi Ganapathi and other places. The EO asked officials to coordinate with the Forest Department officials in making arrangements for the devotees coming on foot through the forest area.
The EO asked the officials to arrange a separate queue line for ‘Siva Deeksha’ devotees. The EO also asked the officials concerned to make proper arrangements for the main festivities like Prabhotsavam, Pagalankarana and Brahmotsava Kalyanam on February 26 and rituals such as Radhotsavam and Teppotsavam, the next day.
The officials at Annaprasadam complex were asked to provide quality and tasty food for the visiting devotees and advised to use fresh vegetables to prepare food. It was also decided that focus would be given in maintaining sanitation on the hill shrine during the festivities and arrangements made to clean garbage and other wastes on a regular basis.
