Nellore MP lauds allocation of railway projects to State

Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy expressed happiness over the Central government’s allocation of huge funds for the development of railways in Andhra Pradesh. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, has allocated ₹9,417 crore for the development of railways in the state, he said here on Tuesday.

“The latest Railway Budget allocated to the State is 11 times more than that received by united Andhra Pradesh during the UPA regime, ₹886 crore,” he said. “Currently, railway projects worth ₹84,559 crore are under way in the state and this is mainly due to the visionary leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.”

The MP further said, “Under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu, more projects will come up in the state with the support of the Central government. For the sake of SPSR Nellore district, the Centre is spending ₹103 crore on the development of Nellore railway station. On behalf of the people in the district, I extend special thanks to the Union government.”

“Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav announced that currently, eight Vande Bharat trains are running across 16 districts of A.P., and more Vande Bharat trains will be allocated soon. The Centre is developing various railway tracks in A.P. to run trains at a speed of 110-160 kilometres per hour and provide better transportation facilities to the people,” he added.
