The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam will perform special rituals on the auspicious occasion of ‘Sri Panchami’ on Monday (February 3).
Goddess Sri Kanaka Durga, the presiding deity, will be adorned and worshipped as Goddess Saraswati Devi on the occasion. Priests will perform ‘Saraswati Mantra Yagna’ on the 6th floor of Mallikarjuna Maha Mandapam.
A special free darshan will be provided to the students from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are advised to wear their school / college uniform, or carry their ID cards to avail of the darshan. Queue lines will be arranged for the students from Kanaka Durga Nagar, through Arjuna Veedhi, to the Maha Mandapam. They will be allowed ‘mukha mandapam darshan’.
After darshan, each student will be given a pen, a ‘raksha’ thread, a pocket-sized laminated photograph of the Goddess, and free laddu prasadam at the Maha Mandapam, according to a press release.
