Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for presenting a Union Budget that he believes will drive India towards becoming a developed nation.
In a release on Saturday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan emphasised that the Budget, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, reflected the government’s commitment to national progress over political gain.
“The vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 is clearly reflected in the 2025-26 Union Budget,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said. He highlighted the key provisions benefiting farmers, women, the middle class, and youth.
The allocation of ₹10 lakh credit cards for the MSMEs and ₹2 crore loans for five lakh SC/ST women entrepreneurs would strengthen economic self-reliance. Additionally, the ₹12 lakh Income-Tax exemption would provide significant relief to the salaried class.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan praised the initiatives such as the ‘PM Dhan Dhanya Yojana’, which supports agriculture in the backward districts through modernised irrigation and storage facilities. The enhancement of Kisan Credit Card limit to ₹5 lakh was another welcome move, benefiting farmers nationwide, he added.
A.P.’s development
For Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Pawan Kalyan noted that the revised estimates for the Polavaram project were approved, ensuring its rapid completion. The ₹5,936 crore allocation for Polavaram and an additional ₹12,157 crore balance grant reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to the State’s development. He also welcomed the grant of ₹3,295 crore for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and ₹730 crore for port expansion, which he said would boost trade and industry.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan thanked the Centre for its support, stating that Andhra Pradesh was now recovering from past financial mismanagement and moving towards progress under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
