Woman killed in freak accident on Mysore Road

A woman was killed in a freak accident while she was riding pillion with her brother on a scooter on Mysore Road in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The deceased Saroja, 47, a homemaker and resident of Kamakshipalya, was returning home with her brother after attending a marriage. While the duo was on their way, a person in a car parked on the road abruptly opened the right side door of the vehicle. The scooter rider crashed into the door and the duo fell on the road. Saroja came under the wheels of a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus that was behind their scooter and was crushed to death. With the help of passers-by, her brother rushed her Saroja to Victoria Hospital where a doctor declared her brought dead.

The Byatarayana Traffic Police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving against both the car and BMTC bus driver, and arrested them for further investigation.
