Smriti Mandhana has etched her name into cricket history, becoming the first Indian woman to score centuries in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Smriti Mandhana acknowledges the crowd after reaching her century.
This momentous achievement occurred during the first T20I between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered a stunning innings, scoring 112 runs off just 62 balls.
As captain, Mandhana led from the front, showcasing her dominance with 15 fours and three sixes. Her aggressive yet controlled innings propelled India to a formidable total of 210/5 in 20 overs – their highest-ever T20I score against England.
Mandhana's landmark knock was also her first-ever T20I century, completing a rare feat that had eluded every other Indian woman batter. Her century set the tone early, blending elegance with power, and effectively neutralizing England’s top spinners like Sophie Ecclestone with fearless strokeplay.
The innings also benefited from valuable contributions from Harleen Deol (43 off 23) and Deepti Sharma (7 not out off 3), as India maintained a strong run rate throughout the match. Lauren Bell was the most successful of England’s bowlers, taking three wickets.
Mandhana's achievement places her among a select group of elite cricketers globally – both male and female – who have scored centuries in all three formats. This milestone is a defining moment for her career and for Indian women’s cricket, inspiring a new generation of cricketers to dream big and break barriers.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has reinforced her position as a leading figure in Indian women’s cricket – consistent, fearless, and a record-breaker.
